Though everyone thinks the first round is where the best picks are made, this is often not the case. Tom Brady, who some call the greatest quarterback of all time, was drafted #199 overall in the sixth round. Even Antonio Brown, wide receiver for the Steelers who makes his case for the best receiver in the league every year, was drafted #195 overall in the sixth round. The hype may die down after the first day, but the stakes remain just as high for each team right until the end. With a promising draft class this year, we are sure to see some late round stars develop.

Ontario’s Chief Coroner, Dr. Dirk Huyer, formally identified all victims of the deadly Toronto van attack at a press conference. The victims included eight women and two men.

Huyer says his team worked methodically over the past few days to scientifically confirm the identities of the victims and thanked their loved ones for their patience.

Alek Minassian, 25, of Richmond Hill, Ontario is the man accused in the attack, and faces 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder in connection with the incident. Prosecutors are reportedly hoping to raise the number of attempted murder charges to 16.

The incident occurred on April 23, 2018, when Minassian drove a white van at high-speeds into a crowd of pedestrians at the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue in North York, Toronto. He fled the scene, but was arrested by authorities shortly after.

Danai Gurira is an American actress and playwright, best known for her role as Michonne on The Walking Dead and as Okoye — the head of the king’s all-female special forces unit, the Dora Milaje — in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition to her career as an actress, Gurira is the writer of the Tony Award-winning play Eclipsed.

While Gurira was raised in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, she was actually born in Iowa, of all place. Born in Grinnell, Iowa, Gurira is the youngest of four siblings. Her family lived in Iowa until 1983, when her family moved back to Zimbabwe after the country gained independence.

She attended high school at Dominican Convent High School before returning to the United States to study at Macalester College, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and also earned a Master of Fine Arts in acting, from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

In 2009, Gurira made her acting debut on Broadway in August Wilson’s play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone playing Martha Pentecost. However, her big break came in 2012 when she joined the cast of AMC’s mega-hit The Walking Dead.

Madalynn Tucker is a Treasure Valley Community College basketball player, but you may want to start paying closer attention because it’s only a matter of time until freshman guard gets more in the spotlight. As it turns out, Tucker is the girlfriend of Leighton Vander Esch, a linebacker from Boise State who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Tucker, who was a standout at Salmon River High School in Riggins, Idaho, stands at just 5-foot-5 compared to Vander Esch’s 6-foot-4.

She was in attendance for the 2018 NFL Draft in Arlington, Texas — which just so happens to be the new home of Vander Esch — and was spotted in the green room next to the soon-to-be Dallas Cowboys rookie.

Vander Esch remained in the green room until hearing his name called with the No. 19 overall pick. During his time at Boise State, Vander Esch received first-team All-Mountain West honors and was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. Prior to signing with the Broncos, Vander Esch also attended Salmon River High School where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. Vander Esch was a quarterback as well as a linebacker during his high school career.

Now, he’s ready to establish himself as one of the best young linebackers in the league.

It looks like Pittsburgh could end up pulling a three-peat this year. Sidney Crosby has been playing his heart out recently, playing subpar during the regular season, may have been what he needed to put all his skill into the Stanley Cup! As for Washington, the Capitals rarely disappoint. They are truly a force to be reckoned with. Even the rookies pull their own weight on this team.

The San Jose Sharks have been truly insane this season, they have a real shot at the cup as well. But my heart belongs to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. An expansion team with true grit and a competitive edge as sharp as their skate blades. I mean with a goalie like Fleury what could possibly go wrong? Afterall he used to play side by side with one of the greats Sidney Crosby.

The Jets have really put in the work as a team this season, but the Predators want this cup more than ever after their loss to Pittsburgh last year. They are the team most deserving of it. PK Subban has been an unstoppable force this season regular season leading into the Stanley Cup. Now that the Predators have round one under their belts, let’s see how round two has in store for this Nashville legends.

Police have arrested and charged 24-year-old Sarah Conway, a Willow Creek Positive Education Program in Eaton Township, Ohio. Conway has been charged with four counts of sexual battery for allegedly having sex with an 18-year-old. Police say the victim was 17-years-old at the start of their relationship but is 18 now.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Conway came to the sheriff’s office to file a harassment complaint against the student on March 21. At that time, deputies say Conway admitted to having sex with the student but was filing a complaint about the multiple text messages he sent when they broke up.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office said text messages showed that Conway and the student had broken up and she had been harassed. The school that Conway worked at says they have placed her on leave immediately expect to fire her. Furthermore, authorities are not charging the unidentified 18-year-old student.

Conway is just the latest teacher to be charged for an alleged relationship with a teenager student.  Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

In addition, 31-year-old Nicole Marie Andrews, 32-year-old Jessica Langford, 29-year-old Andrea Baber, 27-year-old Robin Dunlap, 27-year-old Jennifer Olajire-Aro have also been charged with these charges.

42-year-old Heather Butts of California was arrested on a second-degree felony charge, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student.

Kristen Hancher is a popular social media influencer and youtube star, that has an absolutely massive following and is someone you should really be paying attention to. Why? Well, she’s drop-dead gorgeous that’s why.

Hancher is well known for making videos for her YouTube channel, especially using the musical.ly app. Musical.ly is a social media network that allows users to broadcast live video and create videos. 19-year-old Alejandro Porrata, a George Mason University student, has been charged with distribution of LSD. Porrata allegedly sold the hallucinogenic drug to a fellow student who then jumped or fell out of a fifth-floor window of a residence hall while under the influence.

Tristan Tanner Medina, also 19, died September 30, 2017, after jumping or falling out of a fifth-floor window of a residence hall while under the influence of the LSD he obtained from Porrata. According to the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Alejandro Porrata, 19, of Annandale, Virginia, was indicted by a grand jury after Medina’s death.

While investigating Medina’s death, the university opened up a probe into an alleged cheating scandal after stolen exams were allegedly found on Medina’s computer, which further implicated the fraternity. As a result, the SAE fraternity was temporarily suspended from campus while the investigation continues.

GMU spokesman Michael Sandler sent the following statement to WUSA9 about the scandal:

“In September, police opened a criminal investigation into the death of a student on campus. During the course of that investigation, police discovered a test bank, which included images of university exams that people could access. The issue of the test bank was referred to the Office of Student Conduct to look into the misuse of university documents. No criminal charges have been brought.

Student Conduct began an administrative process that can result in disciplinary action. The university cannot discuss the identity of students involved or any potential disciplinary action against the individuals, as they are considered educational records and are protected under FERPA. The fraternity was suspended on an interim basis pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing. That process is still underway and final disciplinary action may follow.”

Both Medina and Porrata were members of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Medina’s family claims his death was not a suicide but the result of the effects of the drug.

Over the past few years, there has been a lot of talk about the potential adverse side effects of heading the ball in soccer. With the worry of concussions and other brain injuries, heading has become negatively viewed in the sport. Some people have even debated banning the act altogether. A new study published this past week may have you agree.

Researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine found that regularly heading the ball has a more significant effect on daily cognitive function than does the occasional accidental head impact. More than 300 amateur soccer players in New York City, between the ages of 18 and 55, were examined. Participants filled out questionnaires for a two-week period in which they detailed how many head injuries they suffered and how frequently they headed the ball. As it turned out, in those two weeks, players headed the ball around 45 times. At least 1/3 of these players additionally had an accidental head injury, such as banging heads with another player or hitting their head on the ground after a fall.

The participants then completed tests of verbal learning, verbal memory, psychomotor speed (reaction time), attention and working memory. Players who regularly headed the ball performed the worst on the attention and psychomotor speed tasks. Study author Dr. Michael Lipton, a professor of radiology, psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Albert Einstein College, found no connection between accidental head impacts and mental performance. Though the brain function of the players who regularly headed the ball showed only temporary subtle changes, there is worry about long-term damage.

The problem with avid headballers is that they are repeating this act over and over again, and it’s these reoccurring minor impacts that are most responsible for future cognitive impairments. Lipton and his colleagues are now wondering how much is too much. With strong concern that heading causes microstructural changes in the brain, the researchers of this study want to next find out how much heading it takes to produce permanent damage. To do this, they need to conduct a longer follow-up study with more soccer players. In the meantime, Lipton highly encourages players to reduce the amount they head the ball in games and practices.

The former Miss Florida 2012 has burst onto the scene and excelled as a reporter and host for ESPN, SEC Network, and CNN International. Most recently, Rutledge has been on the scene at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas where she gave behind-the-scenes interviews with some of the top prospects in the 2018 draft class.

Rutledge, who attended the University of Florida, previously worked for FOX Sports where she covered games for the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Chargers. She was also a prominent face for on-field reporting during college sports broadcasts on FOX.

The 29-year-old St. Petersburg native who competed in the Miss America 2013 pageant is married to San Francisco Giants infielder Josh Rutledge. The couple got married in 2013.

She previously told TampaBay.com:

I entered my first pageant unintentionally, in 2010. I was 20, a junior in college, and some friends signed me up for the Miss University of Florida pageant. I didn’t want to do it. I had never really seen a beauty pageant, but I had all these stereotypes of what they were. But they told me about the community service, and about the scholarship money, so I thought okay. And I won first runnerup, $1,000.

Rutledge made her ESPN SportsCenter debut as an anchor when she filled in for Cari Champion in early February. She has continued to be a staple on the World Wide Leader in Sports since making her SportsCenter debut, so don’t expect to see her going anywhere anytime soon.

Dolorous, now beginning to harness the full might of her own independence, is as fierce as she is empowered. She remembers when Arnold first brought her to the real world, outside the park, and can now tap into those memories of what she experience about her maker’s world in order to seize it as they have done her own. She went from seeing the beauty in this world… to the ugliness… and now, finally, she sees the truth.

Horrifyingly enough, she shows Teddy images documenting just how many times he’s died and how his existence is basically just a sick game. As they infiltrate the base, Teddy is officially done playing by their rules too. Learning they’re heavily outnumbered by the humans, Dolorous decides it’s time to recruit allies — because she knows the real purpose of this place better than any maker ever could.

How It All Began

In a flashback, we learn how Logan Delos first got hooked into investing his father’s company in the A.I. park to begin with, basically through seduction, which was a nice touch of backstory for an episode that peered back in time to the events which led us to the current rebellion.

In the first season we learned that Logan wouldn’t be in control for long at Delos, as William had grand plans to invest in the park after his full blown infatuation with the A.I. and one beautiful host in particular. After his initial visit, William brings his Delos colleague to Westworld where he explains that the real aspect of marketing to what people want is by giving them freedom in this place, actually examine consumers for who they really are when they think no one is watching.

It’s a sly business move… especially when we think about how tech companies today handle our information. However, it ultimately gives William and Delos Corporation control over the park, a move Logan tells Dolorous is the beginning of the end and they were stupid enough to be the ones to light the match.

Time For A New Role

Meanwhile in the park, “It’s a fucking slaughter out there.” The Man in Black is forming an army of his own to survive the game once and for all now that the odds are fair. He’s looking for a real ending to the story, not just another narrative, something real. He gathers his own troop of hosts to fight and heads West.

Dolorous and Maeve cross paths and the possibility of striking an alliance between the two is short-lived. Maeve is out for vengeance herself, she might not have the real world experience Dolorous has, but she has no puppet masters pulling her strings (or pushing her literal buttons). The two opt to wage war in their own ways. Both women in the process of building an army of their own to win freedom for themselves and their fellow hosts.

In a glimpse as to how Westworld came to be and more importantly, the choices that came to have control be taken by the host’s so violently from within, it’s no wonder the plans of Delos to use hosts to give a deeper meaning of the human condition backfired. They were never in control.

Althea tries to get through to her new captors, Nick, Alicia, Strand, and Luciana, but so far no one’s up for a bit of chit-chat. They’ve hijacked her truck and she, Morgan, and John are stuck driving wherever it is now the Clark crew call home. It definitely looks like they’ve spent some time outdoors, and not in a good way. After the back and forth gets old, Luciana crashes the truck and the two groups are forced to have some face time.

In exchange for help fixing the truck, Althea will tell them where she found the flag she’s been holding on to (one of the Vulture group’s markers from the previous episodes) and they’ll have to tell their stories to her. This whole video journalism gig she has going is really streamlining the whole storytelling process this season which I for one am not complaining.

The Power of Protein

As a sign of good faith, Nick and Morgan remain behind while the remaining parties of both groups head out to find gear to fix the truck they damaged in the hijacking. The two bond over a shared protein bar, as well as some comical smacks of the stick from Morgan. Morgan cuts him free, realizing the kid is emotionally distressed and in no way a threat (big mistake). Nick may not be a threat but he definitely isn’t one who likes being held down.

Nick takes this opportunity to watch Morgan’s interview Althea took of him the day they met. It definitely strung a chord, however it wasn’t enough to get Nick to stay docile for long. He hit the horn and knocked Morgan into the truck before he could get his stick up and took off running as a hoard of walkers approached. Rookie mistake, if they’re coming for one of you, they’re coming for all of you kid.

Sketchy Stories

Strand is not a fan of Althea’s whole mission to collect stories. Perhaps that’s because since the first day we met him back in season 1 he’s been shrouded in mystery. Strand’s secrets have secrets. Even Alicia says, “I have no idea how she’s alive.” Still, the truth has kept Althea going this long, if it hasn’t cost her humanity yet, perhaps it’s a price the Clark family should think about paying.

Meanwhile, Nick reflects on a conversation with his mother about the cost of going out and scavenging. Madison tells him that as long as you focus on one thing good out there, then it was worth making the trip, despite never knowing what you’re going to find outside the walls of safety. Right when Nick, finally out of breath running away from the trap he set for Morgan, sees the beauty in a patch of wildflowers… he gets tackled by the same walkers he lured toward Morgan in the first place. Lucky for him, there are still good people out there, and Morgan saves his ass in the nick of time.

The rest of the group get back to the truck to see it overrun by walkers with an arrow in the road pointing in the direction Nick and Morgan escaped to. John and Luciana go find Nick and Morgan while Strand and Alicia agree to help Althea free the truck for information and in return she gets to film them. They seriously better have some good stories to get off their chest because the lengths this woman is willing to go for her profession is more than most in a pre-apocolyptic world.

Morgan helps Nick find one of the Vultures who terrorized his community he’s apparently been tracking since all hell broke loose, and Nick murders him brutally by impaling him with deer antlers. Guess the cost for stealing canned goods means death. Morgan tells Nick he’s been where he is, and he more than understands what he’s going through. Morgan offers to help. The truck is now free and the group, now getting to know each other a bit better, pick up Nick and Morgan and live to fight another day. At least the next time, the fight won’t be with each other.

And just like that, the little girl Charlie who conned them all last week shoots Nick point blank in the chest. I don’t think this is something he can walk off…
