‘Game Of Thrones’ Final Season Is Shaping Up To Be Absolutely Bonkers

HBO

The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones has long been guaranteed to be an epic event, but now it seems as though it may feature things we’ve never seen before on television … and maybe even in the movies. And despite the fact that the show has always established itself as a once-in-a-lifetime pop cultural phenomenon, that doesn’t mean they’re about to rest on their laurels.

Yes, we know there are only going to be six episodes — but those episodes are reportedly longer than 90 minutes each, and some of those episodes are going to feature the biggest battle scenes we’ve ever seen.

According to Watchers on the Wall (the go-to blog for all things Game of Thrones), the cast and crew of the HBO fantasy epic just wrapped a 55 consecutive night shoot of what’s reportedly a massive battle. That length — almost two months –is more than double the amount of time it took to film their previous large-scale action scenes such as “Hardhome”, “Battle of the Bastards” and “Beyond the Wall”.

Jonathan Quinlan, an assistant director on Thrones posted a thank you note to the cast and crew on Instagram, claiming that what they’ve done will result in something “that’s never been done before.” Sure, that may be setting the bar a little high, bu

via Watchers on the Wall:

The note cites “the cold, the snow, the rain, the mud, the sheep shit of Toome”, in reference to the Winterfell set in Moneyglass, Toome; as well as “the winds of Magheramorne.” In the caption below the photo, Quinlan helpfully added: “Says it all. 55 consecutive nights. 11 weeks. 3 locations. You’ll never again see anything like it.”

These two and a half months of shooting more than double the previous record for a Game of Thrones battle shoot—which likely already was a TV record, as well. Unless the upcoming King’s Landing shoot dethrones it, which seems unlikely, this battle of Winterfell will be the biggest, most expensive action scene we’ve ever seen on TV. Of course, shooting time doesn’t necessarily translate to screen time, so this may or may not be the longest battle in the show, but it will certainly be the most elaborate.

As for the “3 locations” Quinlan makes reference to, aside from the obvious Moneyglass and Magheramorne (specified by the producers’ note and reported on by us for months), the mystery location could be Saintfield, in which we know they filmed but little else.

What could possibly take 55 days to shoot? Well, likely the final battle (or battles) of the show: the living versus the dead, the light versus the dark, the fire versus the ice. Honestly, I’m getting a semi just thinking about it. Let’s more on.

Quinlan has since deleted the original photo from his Instagram (you know someone higher up didn’t like that leak, if just a minor one).

Esteban Torres High School, which is based in eastern Los Angeles, has been placed on lockdown after reports of a person with a gun was near the campus. According to reports, police found a gun near the area, in the front yard of a local school, and are looking for the suspect it possibly belongs to.

What happened?

According to Patch, through City News Service, a witness flagged down an officer before around 9 A.M. local time, claiming that she saw someone, later identified as a man, with a gun near the school, as confirmed by Sergeant Julie Spry of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Police Department. After the witness report, police found the gun near the school.

On Twitter, ABC 7 issued the following statement over the lockdown:

“#BREAKING: Esteban Torres High School in East LA on lockdown due to report of a person with a gun near campus.”

Kentucky Derby Winners: List Of Every Winner Since 1875

The 144th running of the Kentuck Derby is on Saturday, May 5th at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The Derby has a long and distinguished history, along with many nicknames it has picked up since its inception in 1875. My favorite, “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports” as three-year-old thoroughbreds dart around a track that is 1 1/4 miles (2.0 km). The fastest time ever recorded is 1:59.4 minutes, set by Secretariat in 1973. Another nickname picked up along the way, “Run for the Roses”. The origin of the nickname came about in 1925 from New York sports columnist Bill Corum. The winning horse of the Derby is draped with a rose garland on his way to the winner’s circle, hence the nickname.

This year’s race features favorites Justify, Audible, Mendelssohn, and Magnum Moon, among the 20 horse field. For a full list and race details click the link below and if you are looking for some betting advice/odds, we have that covered for you as well.

We have compiled a list of all the former champions dating all the way back to the first ever race in 1875. Which horse from 2018’s Kentucky Derby crop will join them?

Kentucky Derby 2018: Odds, Favorites & Must-See Betting Info

The 144th “Run for the Roses” is almost upon us. The 2018 Kentucky Derby is set to open its gates Saturday, May 5th at Churchill Downs racecourse. For me, horse race betting is a year-round affair but for most the Derby kicks off the horse race betting season. Local OTB’s will draw the biggest crowds of the season on Saturday, as it is the most wagered-upon race of the year. I’m here to provide all bettors with betting details and odds for the big race.

The field this year is pretty wide open, with Justify as the current favorite heading into the race. As per usual, the Derby field sits at 20 three-year-old thoroughbreds. Such a large field makes the Derby the most difficult of the three triple crown races to wager on. I’ll provide you with some info on the favorites and a few sleeper picks.

The Favorites:

Justify trained by legendary trainer Bob Baffert will come out of the 7th spot. The horse did not race at all as a two-year-old but is 3-0 in his career. Justify is coming off a victory at the Santa Anita Derby in April. Mike Smith will jockey the horse and has not reached the winner’s circle at the Kentuck Derby since 2005. With such a large field Justify could have trouble maneuvering for position down the stretch.

Magnum Moon is another horse who did not race as a two-year-old. The horse will be ridden by Luis Saez and is trained by Todd Fletcher who won last year’s derby with Always Dreaming. The horse is one of four of Fletchers’ in the 20 horse field. Magnum Moon won the Arkansas Derby last month.

Betting Tip – A horse who did not race as a two-year-old has not won the Kentucky Derby since 1882, so keep that in mind when placing your bets on Justify and Magnum Moon.

Another horse to keep an eye on is Audible, trained by Fletcher. Audible is coming off a big win at the Florida Derby and comes out of the 5th post. If the horse gets out of the gates smoothly, he will have the inside track on Justify. Javier Castellano is the jockey.

Mendelssohn is another favorite, but be wary of the horse, as it has had traveled from Europe to get to the Derby. Historically horses who travel over the Atlantic perform poorly and fade down the stretch.

Sleeper Picks:

My Boy Jack is a horse you’ll want to throw in on a few combination bets. The three-year-old is the most experienced horse in the race. He is trained by Keith Desormeaux and ridden by veteran brother Kent Desormeaux. The jockey is a three-time Derby winner but last won in 2008.

Bolt d’Oro is ridden by hall of fame jockey Victor Espinoza, and if there is any jockey in the field that knows how to win, it’s him. Espinoza will be seeking his fourth Derby victory. He recently completed the triple crown feat with American Pharaoh in 2015, which was the first time since Affirmed in 1978.

Hofburg sits a 20-1 and could make some real noise in the Derby. The horse finished 2nd to Audible at the Florida Derby. He only has three career starts but has the speed and stamina to be in great position down the homestretch.

Betting Tip – Stay away from Firenze Fire and Free Drop Billy as their inside post positions at 1 and 2 all but eliminates them from the race. It takes a special horse and some luck to win the Derby from those spots.

My Picks:

Win: Audible
Place: Bolt d’Oro
Show: Justify
Superfecta: Audible, Bolt d’Oro, Justify, My Boy Jack

The 144th Kentucky Derby will take place Saturday, May 5th at Churchill Downs. The Derby field consists of 20 horses. We have compiled a complete list and breakdown of the field. The horses are listed in order of their post position.

2018 Kentucky Derby Viewing Details:

Date: Saturday, May 5, 2018
Start Time: 6:34 P.M. ET
TV Channel: NBC
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Live Stream: NBC Sports Live

1. Firenze Fire (50-1)

Owner: Mr. Amore Stable
Trainer: Jason Servis
Jockey: Paco Lopez
Bio: Drawing the 1st post position and winning the Kentucky Derby would take a special type of performance. Unfortunately for Firenze Fire it seems unlikely he is that type of horse.

2. Free Drop Billy (30-1)

Owner: Albaugh Family Stables LLC
Trainer: Dale L. Romans
Jockey: Robby Albarado
Bio: Coming out of the 2nd post does not bode well for Free Drop Billy, historically it has ended horses chances of winning before the race has began.

3. Promises Fulfilled (30-1)

Owner: Robert J. Baron
Trainer: Dale L. Romans
Jockey: Corey J. Lanerie
Bio: The speed and talent is there for Promises Fulfilled, but it is unlikely he will be able to fulfill the promise of having enough stamina to win the Kentucky Derby.

4. Flameaway (30-1)

Owner: John C. Oxley
Trainer: Mark E. Casse
Jockey: Jose Lezcano
Bio: Flameaway has proven he can run on any type of course. If weather conditions take a turn for the worse Flameaway will be one of the most prepared to handle the conditions.

5. Audible (8-1)

Owner: WinStar Farm LLC, China Horse Club International Ltd. and SF Racing LLC
Trainer: Todd A. Pletcher
Jockey: Javier Castellano
Bio: One of four horses trained by Todd Pletcher and is the best of the four. Audible is coming off a victory at the Florida Derby.

6. Good Magic (12-1)

Owner: Five Racing Thoroughbreds and Stonestreet Stables LLC
Trainer: Chad C. Brown
Jockey: Jose L. Ortiz
Bio: Good Magic is the son of Curlin, the 2-time Horse of the Year. The horse has good stamina and should not fade late down the stretch. Good Magic has finished in the top 3 each of the past four races.

7. Justify (3-1)

Owner: China Horse Club, Head of Plains Partners LLC, Starlight Racing, WinStar Farm
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Jockey: Mike E. Smith
Bio: Justify is the favorite heading into the Derby. The horse did not race at all as a 2-year-old. The last derby winner that didn’t race the year before was in 1882. Justify won the Santa Anita Derby in April.

8. Lone Sailor (50-1)

Owner: Tom Benson
Trainer: Thomas A. Amoss
Jockey: James Graham
Bio: The colt is one of the long shots in the race but the horse has performed well against other Derby contestants Free Drop Billy and Bravazo. Lone Sailor finished 2nd at the Louisiana Derby.

9. Hofburg (20-1)

Owner: Juddmonte Farms Inc.
Trainer: William I. Mott
Jockey: Irad Ortiz, Jr.
Bio: Hofburg is one of the least experienced horses in the field. The horse did have a very good showing at the Florida Derby finishing in 2nd place behind Audible.

10. My Boy Jack (30-1)

Owner: Don’t Tell My Wife Stables And Monomoy Stables, LLC
Trainer: J. Keith Desormeaux
Jockey: Kent J. Desormeaux
Bio: My Boy Jack is the most experienced horse in the Derby field. Finished 3rd in the Louisiana Derby. If you thought the owner’s name was a bit odd, there is a funny story behind it. Michael Gualtieri as he is buying the horse uttered the phrase “Don’t tell my wife”. She subsequently found out on Facebook a few days later.

11. Bolt d’Oro (8-1)

Owner: Ruis Racing LLC
Trainer: Mick Ruis
Jockey: Victor Espinoza
Bio: Bolt d’Oro is ridden by hall of fame jockey Victor Espinoza, who completed the Triple Crown feat with American Pharoah in 2015. Bolt d’Oro is more than capable of winning the Derby.

12. Enticed (30-1)

Owner: Godolphin Racing LLC
Trainer: Kiaran P. McLaughlin
Jockey: Junior Alvarado
Bio: Enticed comes from one the strongest pedigrees in the field. The horse won the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes back in Nov. 2017 at Churchill Downs.

13. Bravazo (50-1)

Owner: Calumet Farm
Trainer: D. Wayne Lukas
Jockey: Luis Contreras
Bio: Bravazo has displayed the ability to win from any position. The horse does not have a strong pedigree. Finished 8th at the Louisiana Derby in March.

14. Mendelssohn (5-1)

Owner: Derrick Smith, Mrs. John Magnier & Micheal Tabor
Trainer: A P O’Brien
Jockey: Ryan Moore
Bio: Mendelssohn is coming off a very impressive victory at the $2 million UAE Derby. The horse had to travel over the Atlantic to get to the Derby; the travel can have an adverse effect as we have seen in the past.

15. Instilled Regard (50-1)

Owner: OXO Equine LLC
Trainer: Jerry Hollander
Jockey: Drayden Van Dyke
Bio: Instilled Regard has a strong pedigree. The horse finished fourth at the Santa Anita Derby in April.

16. Magnum Moon (6-1)

Owner: Low, Lawana L. and Robert E.
Trainer: Todd A. Pletcher
Jockey: Luis Saez
Bio: One of four horses trained by Todd Pletcher. Magnum Moon is one of the favorites in the field. The horse has won his past two races, Rebel Stakes and Arkansas Derby.

17. Solomini (30-1)

Owner: Zayat Stables, LLC
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Jockey: Flavien Prat
Bio: One of two Bob Baffert trained horses. Solomini has shown glimpses but not enough to really get behind the horse. The colt finished 3rd in the Arkansas Derby.

18. Vino Rosso (12-1)

Owner: Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable
Trainer: Todd A. Pletcher
Jockey: John R. Velazquez
Bio: One of four Todd Pletcher trained horses. The horse has good stamina, and his pedigree is in long distance.

19. Noble Indy (30-1)

Owner: WinStar Farm LCC and Repole Stable
Trainer: Todd A. Pletcher
Jockey: Florent Geroux
Bio: One of four Todd Pletcher trainer horses. In Noble Indy’s most recent race the colt won the Louisiana Derby Stakes. The horse tends to burn out late, and the 1 1/4 mile distance could be a problem.

20. Combatant (50-1)

Owner: Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC and Willis Horton Racing LLC
Trainer: Steven M. Asmussen
Jockey: Ricardo Santana, Jr.
Bio: The Derby will be the Combatant’s longest race. Combatant finished 4th at the Arkansas Derby in April on a 1 1/8 mile track.

Rihanna Instagram: Best Photos & Must-See Pictures

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, better known as just Rihanna, is a Barbadian singer, songwriter and actress.

She is known far and wide for her singing abilities and achievements. Many of her songs are ranked as the top-selling singles of all time. She’s a multi-time Grammy Award winner, with multiple platinum records to her name. In 2012, she starred in her first feature film Battleship.

Most recently, Rihanna has shifted her focus towards a career in acting. In February 2017, Riri secured a reoccurring role in the fifth and final season of Bates Motel. She played the part of Marion Crane, the infamous character who is known for the shower scene in the film Psycho. The actress is also set to co-star in an all-female cast of the Ocean’s trilogy, Ocean’s Eight.

Rhianna definitely looked delectable on the red carpet for the premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. She’s too bad for words, so I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Cheyanne Vlismas is an up-and-coming mixed martial artist who currently competes in the strawweight division under the Invicta Fighting Championships banner. The 22-year-old makes her Invicta FC debut at Invicta FC 29 on Friday, May 4 at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City against Helen Peralta.

Vlismas has marketable looks and will be looking to prove she has the talent inside of the cage to develop into a promising fighter.

The Invicta FC debut for Vlismas comes just two months after she made a successful pro debut with the Legacy Fighting Alliance in March. Vlismas earned a third-round TKO victory over Karla Henderson due to some beautifully placed elbows.

The Xtreme Couture-trained fighter will now attempt to advance her professional record to 2-0.

After going 7-7-1 as an amateur, there are still plenty of questions about the ceiling for Vlismas as a fighter, but at just 22 years old there is plenty of room to grow.

Vlismas, who was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, goes by the nickname “The Warrior Princess.” With a base in jiu-jitsu,Vlismas is currently ranked the No. 7 pound-for-pound woman in the state of Nevada out of 65 active competitors, according to Tapology.

You can follow Vlismas on social media at “cheywarprincess” on Twitter and Instagram.

A Complete List Of The MLB’s 3000 Hits Club

In the sport of baseball, there is one common theme, statistics rule. Absolutely everything you can measure about a player, baseball has a stat category. The term sabermetrics was coined by baseball author and researcher Bill James. Sabermetrics gained popularity in the 80’s and 90’s, and ever since the turn of the 21st century, it is used by nearly all-league front offices. Major League Baseball is by far the most analytics-driven league of all the major sports.

Since stats are used as a measuring stick for everything in baseball, from scouting to player development to a players place in history, certain individual milestones need to be reached to be considered one of the all-time greats.

One of these such milestones that are held in high regard is the 3,000 hits mark in a players career. The list of players to have accomplished such a feat is one of the most exclusive and famous of all the stat categories. Nearly every player on the list is either in the Hall of Fame or will be enshrined in the very near future.

The exclusive list consists of only 31 members and will soon be adding its 32nd as Albert Pujols is one hit shy of joining such distinguished company. In honor of Pujols being on the cusp of the milestone we have compiled the complete list of all the members of the 3,000 hits club, check it out below.

Mint Julep Recipe: How To Make The Kentucky Derby’s Official Drink

It’s about to be the first Saturday in May, meaning the 2018 Kentucky Derby is set to officially kickoff Triple Crown season at Churchill Downs in Kentucky. The 2018 edition of the 1.25-mile race will be the 144th running of the derby — also known as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports” and “The Run for the Roses.”

The Kentucky Derby airs on NBC, with an expected post time of 6:30 p.m. ET.

If you are unable to attend the derby in person but still want to carry out some of the race’s traditions in the comfort of your own home, we have you covered beginning with the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, the Mint Julep.

How can you make the Mint Julep at home? Here is the official recipe used at Churchill Downs for The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports.

The Old Forester Mint Julep Recipe

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • Sprigs of fresh mint
  • Crushed ice
  • Old Forester Straight Bourbon Whisky
  • Silver Julep Cups

Make a simple syrup by boiling sugar and water together for five minutes. Cool and place in a covered container with six or eight sprigs of fresh mint, then refrigerate overnight. Make one julep at a time by filling a julep cup with crushed ice, adding one tablespoon mint syrup and two ounces of Old Forester Kentucky Whisky. Stir rapidly with a spoon to frost the outside of the cup. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

About The Mint Julep

According to the official Kentucky Derby website, nearly 120,000 Mint Juleps are served at Churchill Downs Racetrack during the two-day period for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby weekend. That includes more than 60,000 pounds of ice, 10,000 bottles of Old Forester Mint Julep ready-to-serve cocktail, and 1,000 pounds of fresh mint.

The Mint Juleps are served at the racetrack in either an ice-frosted silver julep cup or a souvenir glass. Each year since 1939 the Kentucky Derby has updated the souvenir glasses with all previous winners featured on the cup.

If you are looking for some food to pair with your Mint Julep, consider some burgoo, a thick stew of beef, chicken, pork, and vegetables that is a very popular Kentucky dish often served at the derby. It’s an easy way to bring the Louisville traditions into your home.

University of Oregon Fraternity Suspended Over Derogatory Document

Phi Kappa Psi at the University of Oregon has been suspended after a derogatory document with its name on it surfaced.

The document contains the fraternity’s name and the names of some of its members, followed by a litany of derogatory questions that contain homophobic slurs, sexist language, and drug references. The document violates the University’s hazing policy.

University of Oregon Assistant Dean of Students Marcus Langford said that “the entire document in and of itself is highly problematic.” Furthermore, the Phi Kappa Psi National Headquarters released a statement saying that “the messages contained in the document do not reflect the values of Brotherhood, Respect for the Dignity and Well-Being of Others and Personal Integrity. Nor do they align with expectations of Phi Kappa Psi membership. We will get to the bottom of this.”

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority suspension in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who were shut down for hazing and the Lamda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

Top 5 Moments From Albert Pujols’ Career

If you’ve kept up with baseball since 2001, then there is one name that everyone knows; Albert Pujols. For me, as a Mets fan, I think of our loss to Pujols and the Cardinals in the 2006 NLCS before they went on to defeat the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. But for the Pujols legacy, this is barely something to remember. Since his MLB debut on opening day for the Cardinals in 2001, he has been considered one of the best, earning ESPN.com’s Player of the Decade award in 2009. His time spent on the Cardinals was unmatched in terms of skill and talent. Now in his 18th season, he sits on the crest of a milestone, just one hit away from 3,000 career hits. With this feat achieved he is undoubtedly going finish his career as one of the all-time greats.

Once you take a look at his stats, it’s easy to see why he is held in such high regard. Between his rookie season, in which he won Rookie of the Year, and the end of his 2010 season, Pujols finished each season batting no less than .314 with slugging percentages under .600 in only three of those seasons. His OPS through those ten years was below 1.000 only twice. Yet these stats only scratch the surface and though he was somewhat consistent through the decade, his best season came in 2008. In 2008 Pujols finished with a slash line of .357/.462/.653, 100 runs scored, 116 RBI, and 104 walks, while only striking out 54 times through 524 at-bats. His ability and talent as a player are undeniable, and the awards he won are seemingly endless. In fact, let’s take a look at those awards.

  • 10x All-Star (2001, 2003–2010, 2015)
  • 2× World Series champion (2006, 2011)
  • 3× NL MVP Award (2005, 2008, 2009)
  • NLCS MVP Award (2004)
  • NL batting champion (2003)
  • 2× NL home run leader (2009, 2010)
  • NL RBI leader (2010)
  • 6× Silver Slugger Award (2001, 2003, 2004, 2008–2010)
  • 2× Rawlings Gold Glove Award (2006, 2010)
  • 2× Hank Aaron Award (2003, 2009)
  • NL Rookie of the Year Award (2001)

With all of these achievements, its difficult to narrow down to his top five, but not impossible. Here are my picks for Albert Pujols Top Five Career Highlights.

3-HR Game 3 of 2011 World Series

In 2011, the St.Louis Cardinals once again found themselves in a position to win the world series, this time against the Texas Rangers. The World Series went all the way to the seventh game before the birds took the win, their first since 2006. But of all the moments remembered from that series, game three stands out. In this crushing 16-7 victory for the Cardinals, Pujols joined Baseball royalty as he hit three home runs in that game alone, becoming the third player in history to achieve that feat. The other two? Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson. On the night he had five hits, six RBI,  and 14 total bases. It stands as the best night offensively ever recorded in a World Series.

2008 Regular Season

As mentioned above, Pujols’ 2008 season was one for the record books. There really isn’t much for me to say here without getting to statistical. Enjoy some highlights of his MVP season instead.

His Rookie Season

Making the move to the major league isn’t always an easy one. Countless times we’ve seen first-round picks falter and fail to live up to their hype and expectations. That can’t be said for Pujols however, as the 13th round draft pick had a season to remember.

Before the season had even started, he already had one of the biggest names in baseball backing him up. His teammate and baseball superstar Mark McGwire told manager Tony LaRussa “If you don’t put this guy on the roster for the 2001 season, it might be one of the worst moves you make in your career.” And what a mistake it would’ve been. Thankfully for the Cardinals, LaRussa listened, starting Pujols on opening day. From there, Pujols went on to finish the season with a .329/.403/.610 slash line with 130 RBI and 37 home runs. Unsurprisingly he unanimously won the Rookie of the Year award that year, only foreshadowing what was to come.

2011 World Series Championship

His first world series win in 2006 was momentous itself, but the 2011 championship run makes his second even more special. At the end of August, the Cards were down 10.5 games from a wildcard playoff spot. The Redbirds played a phenomenal September and overtook the NL Wildcard leading Braves in the last game of the season. St.Louis fought its way through the rest of the playoffs, defeating the NL East champion Philadelphia Phillies and the NL Central champion Milwaukee Brewers to face the Texas Ranger in World Series.

Throughout the entire postseason, Pujols averaged .356/.463/.676, leading his team to a World Series win.

600 Career Home Runs

Of all of his career milestones, 3,000 hits may be his greatest, but that hasn’t happened just yet. However, in June of 2017 Pujols hit his 600th career home run, a feat achieved by only nine other players in history. He did it in style too, blasting a grand slam in the fourth inning against the Brewers. What a moonshot.

Revenge Of The 5th: Top 10 Best Instagram Captions In 2018

$
0
0

May 5th, best known to Star Wars fans as “Revenge of the 5th” is a day where fans show their outpouring support for the Star Wars series. “Revenge of the 5th” is a play on words of Star Wars prequel films, “Revenge of the Sith.” Oddly enough the “Revenge of the 5th” comes after another celebrated Star Wars themed day named “May the 4th”, which is the day before and references the famous and iconic line in the Star Wars films, “May the Force be with you.” If you are a massive Star Wars fan and wish to post something for this day, you have come to the right place because we have put together a list of best possible captions for you to post on Instagram. These captions are from all throughout the Star Wars franchise. Some quotes are very insight full and can be thought-provoking, while some (like those from the prequels) is silly.

“Do or do not. There is no try.”- Yoda

Instagram Photo

An inspirational quote, but is one that is very famous and adds weight. Yoda tells Luke this when they are training together. This one one of the more popular quotes from the first series. To try is to accept that you will fail, You must do what you want to do, or you do not and fail. There is no middle ground.

“I find your lack of faith disturbing”- Darth Vader.

Instagram Photo

A quote that is plain cool, this is from an intense scene from the beginning of the Star Wars first installment of the franchise and has been repeated by fans around the world. It is a great quote to prove people wrong, and show them that you will do what you set out to accomplish. The intimidation factor also adds severity to the quote which is the cherry on top for the caption.

“Your eyes deceive you. Don’t trust them”- Obi-Wan Kenobi.

A very thought-provoking quote, one that changes a person viewpoint one life itself. It helps show that not everything is what it seems, in the movie and also in real life. This quote tells Luke to trust his senses and feelings and not just go with what you see in the real world. This will be a great quote if you are referencing something within a picture or if you want something that is inspirational and thought-provoking in itself.

“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope” – Princess Leia.

Instagram Photo

A classic line from the Star Wars franchise. This quote can be used and is immediately recognized. The quote would be a great caption to merely show your appreciation for the film, or in a post with a loved one. Princess Leia relies on Obi-Wan to help her because she has no one else to run too, which is a great reason to use this one.

“Fear is the path to the dark side, fear leads to anger, anger to hate… leads to suffering”- Yoda.

Instagram Photo

Another quote from the prequel films that is often overlooked. The quote captures the essence of that the dark side of the force is and explains how anger and hate can lead one down a dark path. An inspirational quote and has a lot of weight behind it. This is told to a young Darth Vader which is proven to be true. If you appreciate the lessons Star Wars teaches, this is a quote for you.

“I don’t like sand. Its course and rough and irritating and gets everywhere”- Anakin Skywalker

Instagram Photo

The most infamous Star Wars lines ever created. Anakin’s problem with sand can oddly be relatable. If you want to ironically come up with the most random quote possible as well as show your hatred for the irritating sand, this quote will do just that.

“It’s a trap”- Admiral Ackbar

A personal favorite line said by Admiral Ackbar can give context to use this are however you feel. It’s just a fun line to say in any situation. As a caption, it can be used to pertain to anything in your post you want to point out.

“She may not look like much, but she got it where it counts kid”- Han Solo

Instagram Photo

A saying that gives a lot of introspective. It gives your followers thought as to how you view yourself. You can use this post if you want to show something off. A statement that goes hand and hand with “you can judge a book by its cover”. This one can be used in a number of different ways and one that I say is very telling of character.

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size do you?”- Yoda

Instagram Photo

Another great quote by Yoda, in where it builds of self-confidence. The quote is used to inspire many people to be able to accomplish what they want in life, and not feel bad because who they are. This quote holds a special place because it is the driving force for the entire story.

“Nooooooooooooooooooo”- Darth Vader

A quote that speaks for itself, Darth Vader’s anger in the death of Padme broke him, and in turn, he blurted out an oddest and awkward yell in cinema history. The cry has a special place in the hearts of Star Wars fans, so I felt as though I had to add it to the list. Someone is bound to chuckle at this quote for “Revenge of the 5th” which is what you want is you use it.
